Germany Goes Bananas!
Help us to reach our target to feed a MILLION school meals of fresh fruit to hungry and impoverished children in Zululand.

With just 4p a day we can:

* Feed a hungry child with nutritional fruit.
* Encourage children to attend school, helping them gain a vital education.
* Provide much needed trade to the local fruit sellers.
* Give HOPE to a forgotten Zulu community.

Guten Tag everyone

And I'm Sorry I can't speak much German (three words actually, and two of them I wouldn't post here!!).

Many thanks to Andreas for inviting me to his club to post details of my work.

My name is Kevin, but in Zululand, South Africa I'm known as Banana Man by thousands of children because I run food to school feeding schemes there.

Since June 2005 I've fed nearly half a million school meals of fresh fruit to hungry children and AIDS orphans in one of the poorest regions of Africa and today feed nearly 7,500 meals a week.

This year I'm on a big yellow mission to feed ONE MILLION school meals to the desperate Zulu children - which sounds expensive, but at only 4p a meal is incredibly cheap.

But the power of these pennies doesn't just feed the children.

Providing food at school encourages many of the children to attend school and removes them from begging, or worse still, prostitution. At school the children gain a vital education and this provides them with a chance of a better future. Also, because all the fruit is bought from the local growers and traders, it helps boost the fragile local economy too.

Best still when you put food in a hungry child's mouth you also fill their heart with joy and their minds with hope.

Nothing more precious than a childs smile.

Apart from being a fantasic read each book sold feeds a child for a month!!

Hope to connect with you soon
